"The experience we had was fairly decent but there was some issues with cleanliness of the resort. Room was fine. Main issue was that they pushed their circle subscription aggressively and it soured out experience as we were just trying to relax. Overall, it’s solid. Not as good as dreams onyx in Punta Cana which is the only other place we’ve stayed previously."

"I was very disappointed with not having Secruity on path ways . Every night between 11pm and 4am in morning there was someone intoxicated scream , fighting. I have no problem with individuals having a a good time that was too much. You go on Vacation to relax but it's hard to do when individuals are waking you up. The food was great and staff was wonderful but didn't make up for the persons that were intoxicated between 11pm and 4am"

"The room decor looked great, however as soon as you come into the room the smell is bad. The resort itself is pretty, kids pools are great. The ocean was not.. too much seaweed, the cleaning crew cleaned seaweed with truck between 9 am - 1pm right when you are at the beach.. not good, smelly, blocking the view."

"Occidental Xcaret is an absolutely stunning resort! From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by how beautifully the property is woven into the surrounding jungle, it truly feels like you’re stepping into another world. Waking up to lush greenery and wildlife all around made the experience so unique and unforgettable. Monkeys visited our balcony every day and it was AMAZING! 😍 The staff went above and beyond to make our stay special, always warm, welcoming, and attentive. Our room was spacious, spotless, and incredibly comfortable, perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. We had such an incredible vacation and are already dreaming about coming back. This place is pure magic! We will definitely be returning! "

"First off I want to say that I had a wonderful time. The property is beautiful and the food was amazing. I stayed here with my grandma for a week and we had a blast. I gave the hotel 4 stars because there were a lot of things that could have been better. The first night we checked into our ocean view room and I couldn't see the ocean at all. I was very disappointed especially with the extra cost I paid to have that and to be in an "elite room". Really all I wanted was the ocean view. Luckily I called them and they moved us to the far end and up 2 floors which allowed us to have an actual video so they made that better and I appreciated that. There was a bug problem in the new room however, we had 2 cockroachs and tiny little bugs. We called them and they sprayed the room and got rid of them. Another thing that was odd was the layout of the room, which they had no control over obviously but it was a strange layout if you aren't staying there as a couple. The tub is in the middle of the room and there is no door to have any privacy when you are showering or in the tub. It's not an adults only hotel so that was disappointing. The last riu palace resort we stayed at was absolutely amazing and the room was huge and definitely a better layout. But again, these things were small issues and the hotel worked very hard to fix it. I would stay here again and thought everyone was super nice. "

"My husband and I were there for 6 nights and we could not have picked a better spot. You are in the heart of Playa at this hotel! Roof top pool/bar is awesome! Staff was great! Rooms were perfect! We would 100% come back. "
