UTSA Institute of Texas Cultures is a museum and library that celebrates the heritage of the people who call Texas home. The exhibits highlight Texans from the past and present who have contributed to the one-of-a-kind culture of the Lone Star State.

Entertaining and educational exhibits, outreach efforts, and training for teachers make up the core of the mission for the institute. You'll find opportunities to experience food, music, dance, traditions, religion, and other ways of life from the ancestors of Texans from around the world.

UTSA Institute of Texas Cultures highlights

There are currently many exhibits and special events programmes that are inspiring as well as educational. From puppets to apothecary bottles you'll find interesting objects in the collections that define the heritage.

In UTSA Institute of Texas Cultures, you will discover rich photo collections and a focused library on Texan cultures. The outreach programme empowers training workshops. There are Smithsonian artefacts on display due to their solid affiliation between the two museums.

Good to know when visiting UTSA Institute to Texas Cultures

Field trips and tours are available for people to make the most out of their time at the institute. Tours can be self-guided or led by a trained docent. Allow at least 2 hours to explore the museum.

The UTSA Institute of Texas Culture is accessible as there are no entry fees. While visiting, make sure to explore the whole campus. Parking is on the street or in a nearby lot. After your time in the museum, be sure to dine at one of the many restaurants near the campus.
