We have been before at the Iberostar Quetzal/Tucán. Everything was great, unfortunately I asked for a junior suite near the pool according to the advertisement and I was sent to the most distant building on the third floor with the difficulties that this entails because I have a stroller and babies. I requested the change when I checked in but there would be additional charges of 100 USD per night.
As areas of opportunity, modernization is urgently needed in the rooms, especially with more light sockets, better pressure in the shower, drawers to store clothes and better lighting.
The provided drinks at the bars are also of medium to low quality in tequilas and other distilled beverages, draft beer is excellent.
I would for sure think about upgrading that bar.
In general I recommend Iberostar because the amenities and food are excellent and I would definitely return because it is a beautiful hotel.
