Villa Marshall is a nice small hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast is delicious and not overpriced like most hotels. We had a view overlooking the river and the beautiful Alte Brucke bridge. It is located in old town Heidelberg and just across the river from the philosopher way and wonderful walking trails. Stay there
Great boutique hotel in a perfect location along the river. Everything in the old town is easily walkable. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We booked a superior room and were placed on the top floor in the only room that has both castle and river views. Breakfast was good value at 12 euro per person. Would definitely stay here again.
The room we stayed in was very nice and spacious but the hotel is located next to a very busy road. Even with all windows closed, we could hear traffic noise.
A great place to stay in Heidelberg. So clean and comfortable! The staff was great to accommodate our late arrival and held our bags the following day as we explored the city. Would definitely recommend.
The location of the property was excellent and the room very clean. However our room was in the eaves and it was not possible to walk around the bed without having to duck to avoid hitting our heads. The only place to leave suitcases was on the floor under the eaves too so the whole stay was very uncomfortable. The parking was a 5-10 minute walk away, although we were able to drop off our bags by parking briefly outside the hotel. The pictures of other rooms in the brochure looked fine, but our room should at the very least be only a single room where moving around would have been less hazardous. The hotel staff were not interested in hearing our comments on checkout, although the lady who welcomed us when we arrived was lovely.
Very well located hotel near old bridge. Very pleasant and helpful staff
We liked our stay at this property. My family of four booked two rooms for one night. It is located in a great place near the pedestrian area with restaurants. We had a corner room with a pretty view of the river. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and we enjoyed the breakfast in the pretty brick-arched cellar. We would definitely return here. Be sure to go hike to the castle ruins just outside of town.
This is a beautiful place in the center of things. The staff are excellent in every way. Room elegant and comfy.
We really enjoyed the Villa Marstall. The location could not be better and the room was very comfortable. A great building with breakfast in brick cellar. However - a bit of a warning - or maybe advise. The hotel does not have a person on duty after 10 pm nor after something like 8:30 on Sunday. Access after hours is by code or room key. This is fine except 1) they changed our room code on a Sunday, 2) we were not on a cell plan (just internet) and didn't get the code 3) we found ourselves looked out. Eventually did go on cell service and found a code email.
We loved our short stay at Villa Marstall which is conveniently located in the middle of the historical old town (Altstadt) of Heidelberg. Everything is walkable from here. The staff was very friendly, offering to carry in and out our bags. Everyone spoke perfect English and German. If possible try and book a room on the river side of the building so you can wake up to the nice view across the river. There is no parking on-site but they offer discounted rates at a city garage nearby. Drop your bags first, then park in the city structure which is about a 10-minute walk thru the town center. Breakfast in the wine cellar was tasty and the staff keeps the spread fresh. Perfect hotel to see this beautiful historical town.
