Fint hotell med bra lƤge. Vackert inrett i receptionen!
Perfect spot for our stay in Inverness. Close to bus and train stations, restaurants, pubs, shopping and more. Grocery store, taxi service and Victorian Market right next door was a huge plus.
Just a little worried about check In the second time we stayed but all turned out perfect. With quick responds from Jacobite house. Only complaining about the million stairs to climb other wise perfect place. Could use upgrade in mattresses a bit lumpy but weāre tired enough to sleep though the lumps t
Nice room with great ensuite. Communal kitchen/dining area with all mod cons plus coffee tea and milk. Good central property.
Stairs up to floors are quite steep. We were overlooking the town/street and it was very noisy throughout the night. Revelers shouting till 3am and bin lorries and deliveries from 6.30am
Excellent location, walkable to everything! Bathroom was a bit small for 2 people to share but it worked out okay for the 1 night we were there. If it offered a mini fridge we might consider returning for a longer stay.
It was a nice room that was located in the center of Inverness! It was very close to many restaurants and was easy to get to. There was a car park down the street as well which made it convenient for parking
I was a bit nervous in the days leading up to this stay knowing that it is a hotel without a traditional check in desk (not because I am against this, just if there are issues it could be difficult), and others have had difficulty locating the building. I couldn't be more wrong. The instructions were clear and easy. The building now has a sign. Check in was a breeze. My room was on the top floor which made it a bit difficult carrying my luggage after a long train ride, but the steps were to be expected and were described. The room was absolutely lovely and comfortable. I really couldn't have been more pleased with this stay.
Excellent set-up for budget-conscious traveler. Location is in the heart of the city, convenient to shopping and transportation. Easy to explore city from there.
Only suggestion is to make arrival instructions a little clearer, since there is no registration desk. Instructions say, "the lockboxes that have your roomĀ Key is to your right on the fire exit door." The lock boxes are actually on an inside wall, behind the fire door. The door appears locked and has a sign that says keep closed. It took me several frustrating minutes to figure out that I had to open the door to get to the lock boxes.
Great little place near locations to shop for groceries, drink and eat. Room was cute and comfortable. Water pressure decent.
Have own bathroom. Shares kitchen area/common room.
Parking isn't that nearby, but you can unload your luggage.
We did not receive a code for check in. A taxi company next door was open, thankfully, and called our host - US phone wouldnāt work. Room we reserved had not been cleaned, but I was able to call host on Whatās ap (not told that communication thru the app would be necessary) and she had another room available. She did helpfully allow us to leave luggage while we went on an overnight tour. Taxi company said this kind of thing happens all the time and they are constantly having to help her customers while trying to run their own business. It was late when we arrived from London and it would have been a mess if we had had to find another room last minute.
The Jacobite provided a very central location. I had read recent reviews on the property which made me fear the worst but these were unfounded.
Firstly, the location is very central which, in my opinion, is what most people want from a holiday accommodation. The downside of this is noise from the street outside at night time. While this can get noisy if your apartment faces onto the street, how this impacts on you depends very much on when you want to go to sleep. If you go to your bed at 10.30pm then prepare for at least 90 minutes of street noise. If you don't go to your bed until midnight, then you won't be too bothered by this noise.
Hotels in Inverness are expensive! In comparison, the Jacobite was very reasonable for a 2 night stay. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. My only comment would be to be careful when using the small sink in the shower room. There is a glass ledge above this sink which you have to watch out for when bending down to brush your teeth and wash your face as it is easy to bump into it.
The staircase is normal size/width it is not overly narrow.
We were provided with an email 24 hours before we were due to arrive. This email provided clear instructions regarding access codes to main door and to the room.
All in all, we were more than happy with our choice for our two night break and would happily recommend it.
There was garbage in the room when we checked in
The bed was one and of the worst I have ever attempted to sleep in
The street noise came right up into the room until the bars closed
The common area stunk due to the piles being of laundry
There was no shampoo etc in the room
Learned my expensive lesson
