I went on a month long solo trip through different places in Thailand and Cambodia. This resort was hands down the best lodging experience I had out of the 5 places I stayed. I stayed for 6 days.
It is owned by a hard working man and his younger daughter who stay on site. The resort gives you a very safe feeling as the owner locks it at night or when he is away. He ensures to communicate with you about when you will be away or when he will be away. He is constantly maintaining the resort and offers to go above and beyond to ensure you are taken care of. The only downside is that if you are someone who likes to stay out, the owner will have to stay awake to ensure he can keep an eye on the gate. But, he is fully willing to to wait up. There is not food available and the location is tucked away from main stores, but I utilized grab and was able to either get rides or get food delivered to me easily. Water was always available. The owner also offered to get things for me.
The temple guide was easily able to pick me up from the hotel. Even told me I was closer than most tourists.
The owner went above and beyond when I hurt my foot at the temples (turns out my foot was broken), and supplied me with ice and lidocaine patches.
While others may enjoy being directly in the city, this was just far enough out that it was quiet, I felt safe, and I got to enjoy a relaxing stay that I do not think I would have gotten if I stayed anywhere else.
