First impression driving up is that this property has endured very poor maintenance for years. With peeling paint, rotting columns, rotting porch boards and shaky railings, it looks to be ready to fall down. Inside, however is different. The common areas are well appointed and clean. (However, the lobby restroom was filthy.) The breakfast area is light and airy and quite inviting. The nearby patio, viewed from the dining area, is a mess.
The Bowie suite itself was clean and cozy though not extremely well appointed. There were no tumblers in the bathroom. (How does one rinse their moth or take meds without tumblers.) There were no facial tissues in the room. One of the most important amenities advertised for this room, the corkscrew, was not provided. The bed was so far off the floor that my wife needed a step stool to get in it. The air conditioner was an old style motel through-the-wall type unit. Having the compressor in the wall makes it uncomfortably loud.
The ultimate insult was, after being charged over $400 for two nights for mediocre accommodations, I was charged an extra $30.00 for parking. They need to make it very clear, when booking on a third party website, that parking is extra.
The breakfast was good and enjoyable and the lady cooking was friendly and efficient.
Overall, this was a disappointment. I would not recommend.
