Based on my stay at Hotel Loch Sheil on
Here's a breakdown of the issues encountered:
* Limited Service: Upon arrival, despite a nearly empty restaurant, we were informed of a wait until 6:30 pm for dinner.
* Room Issues: Our assigned room (number 5) had inadequate curtains, allowing significant light intrusion. Additionally, some curtain hangers were missing.
* Restaurant Issues:
* Incorrect Beverage Service: Requested light IPAs, but received dark beers instead.
* Unacceptable Food Quality: The salmon dish with vegetables and mashed potatoes was inedible. Vegetables were unappetizing, and mashed potatoes were cold. Photos can be provided upon request.
* Hygiene Concerns: A staff member with a cold served other tables, raising hygiene concerns.
* Breakfast Issues:
* Table Relocation: Despite taking a table, we were requested to move due to an arriving guest with a dog, which conflicted with our understanding of the pet policy.
* Unsanitary Practices: Butter was not readily available and required a request. When requesting additional bread, the young server used his bare hands to handle the bread rolls.
* Poor Bed Quality: The provided bed lacked comfort and quality.
* Abrupt Departure: Due to the accumulated issues, we opted to leave a day early despite booking a two-night stay.
We would strongly adviceagainst recommending this hotel to others.
