The Guest House is run by a very friendly Sicilian family. My room was excellent condition, spotlessly clean, bed was very comfortable. WiFi was fast and reliable. I left early and they went out of their way to make me breakfast. There is a lovely cafe, pizzeria, fast food joint very close but best of all a fantastic restaurant within 50m and a fantastic pub within 70m so the area is vibrant with real character. There is a piazza and a church very close, where the pub is, where people gather. The bells sound till 12 so take ear plugs if you don’t like that type of thing.
The town is run down, but that didn’t affect my stay. I felt very safe and the people were much more friendly than Catania.
Warning - don’t park overnight just outside the hotel as it’s pedestrian only evenings to allow the restaurant to put its tables out. Park on the other side of the high street after you unload your bags. I got 40 Euro fine.
