Initial impressions were good, the entrance is via a key safe so available whenever you get there. However on arrival the flat was really cold, not a major problem I found the room thermostat was off so turned it up and then went round turning the radiator thermostats on. The owner had left us a bottle of wine and some biscuits and cereals for the morning so overall we were happy. The problems started the next morning when we woke up to no hot water. Checked the boiler and it has tripped out, so I reset it waited a bit and then my colleague and I got ready to go to an all day conference. That night my colleague tried to have a bath but again the boiler had gone out, we reset it again, waited for the water to heat and then she got in the bath. A couple of minutes later the landlord was at the door saying there was water going down into the flat below beacause our shower was leaking. I pointed out that the shower was not being used and having got my colleague out of the bath he could see the floor was completely dry. I told him we were having issues with the boiler and he said he knew it needed replacing and would call a plumber. The next morning we were woken by a British Gas engineer who had come to fix the boiler. He took one look at it and checked his records, then said the landlord had been told a couple of weeks ago that the boiler needed an internal clean as it was coked up and there was nothing he could do.
The issues with the boiler spoilt our stay.
