My Uber pulled into the hostel directly opposite and I was impressed, then realised my hostel was the one on the other side of the road and was very disappointed - it looked like it should be in a ghetto somewhere. Lots of graffitti on the outside as a welcome, the building looked really old and tired, no clear sign as to where reception was, or indeed that it was the hostel I was staying at, and lots of “lock your door” signs everywhere. When I found reception, posters warning abouts the local “thief” were my welcome! Not great so far, but the bed was clean, although extremely noisy, most beds in the room woke everyone up as people moved in their sleep, air con and WiFi were amazing though, and value for money was pretty good I guess. Staff are really friendly. Toilets and showers were gross, although they were cleaned during my stay I don’t think they have had a deep clean since they opened. Overall great for a night or 2 to save money but hostel opposite looked more appealing!
