I added an extra night at this hotel to a tour booking which had 2 nights. It was the worst thing I could have done. Travelling solo and being over 60 I wanted a "tour" in case the Altitude got to me. What I had was a "travel manager" who farmed me out to various sightseeing trips, and hotels. There was no communication, it wasn't until an unknown NESB driver took me to the first hotel that I had any inkling that "my accommodation was being refurbished". This hotel was worse than the dodgiest backpackers, you can think of. It had mould growing on the painted walls in the bathroom, stained bedspreads, ragged carpet. The windows were sealed shut with sticky tape, hence no ventilation. The heater didn't work, I had to ask for towels and these smelt mouldy (I only got one - no bath mat). I had no idea what part of town I was in and the woman on the desk was less than helpful. When I complained that I would only stay there one night, he seemed incredulous that I would complain as no one else had complained about the venue. He arrived 45 mins late on day 2, and was trying to get me to stay there for another night. Reluctantly he arranged something else more appropriate, only to be taken back to this same hotel at the end of the half day tour. Again driver didn't speak English, just telling me that this was the hotel. What I worked out eventually is that the pictures and address listed on Expedia were different to the actual location I stayed. 10 mins by car
