This is a pleasant apartment in the centre of the Old Town in Donostia/San Sebastian.
The location is superb, on a lively pedestrian street with many pintxo bars, close to buses and only a short walk to both beaches. Although the street is busy with people, the windows are double glazed and when closed there is very little noise.
The apartment is in a charming old building, and each room has a juliet balcony looking onto the street below. The apartment has been done up in a modern style, and has been converted to a hotel arrangment with several separate bedrooms that lock, and a shared bathroom and kitchen. The bathroom is great, beautifully done up with a big walk in shower, and is kept spotless. The kitchen is more homely and there is free bread, spreads, and tea, and a fridget that can be used by guests. The bedroom we were in had a large wardrobe, bedside tables, and a small desk and chair, but it did feel quite cramped to move around in. The double bed was very comfortable and the clothes line on the balcony was useful for drying things after the beach.
The owner, Luca, was helpful and friendly, and was quick to greet us when we arrived even though we hadn't communicated in advance about arrival time. He also allowed us to leave our bags on our last day and arrange a time to collect them. The host does not live in the apartment, so it is very quiet though there may be opportunity to meet other guests in the kitchen.
