Absolutely wonderful ❣️ I chose this B&B because it had a view of Lake Siljan in Vikarbyn Sweden. This area is known for the Midsummer festival, which was very high on my list of things to do whilst in Sweden. It did not disappoint. The evening of the Maypole celebration was just a short walk from the B&B, and our hosts were very involved in the celebration, which made our experience extra special.
Our room was very comfortable with a shared bath, which was not a problem at all. There were more than one to choose from. We were on the second floor which had its own kitchen with a refrigerator and microwave, plus a table for seating. There was a balcony/porch to sit on with a beautiful view of the lake. It was so peaceful and quiet.
The main dining area was on the first floor. The variety of food to choose from was wonderful, which included delicious homemade breads and jams. It was the only place we stayed in Sweden which also included homemade lefse, a Scandinavian specialty. Lefse is a flat bread , similar to tortillas, which most Americans are familiar with, but made with riced potatoes. My family always served lefse for Thanksgiving and Christmas, so this was extra special for me.
Parking was onsite. There was a grocery store very close by, so you could buy food to make for lunch and/or dinner. There were a few shops nearby within walking distance.
We enjoyed our stay here immensely. The hosts were very accommodating and friendly.
I highly recommend staying here.
