We booked a Deluxe Sea View. Given the room name, and the locator pin on Google Maps, I expected Jasmine to be beachside. In fact, the hotel is perhaps 300-400m away from the sea And the "view" from the room was of the roofs of the pool-side rooms, without a glimpse of the ocean as far as I could see.
Having paid 3,900THB (less discount), quite pricey for a three-star place in small seaside towns in Thailand, I was expecting something pretty impressive. Unfortunately, whoever built this new "resort" has little idea what they are up to. Material selection was good, and design of some of the furniture is attractive, but the layout of the stuff is dysfunctional. No bedside lights (you have to get out of bed just as you are falling asleep to turn out the lights), the washbasin tap on full power emits a tiny but vicious spray that bounces off the porcelain soaking the front of your clothes, the bathroom mirror is so high that my partner couldn't even see the top of her head, the large balcony with no chairs or table, let alone a sun lounger (see the word "Resort" in the name?), no clothes storage apart from 50cm of hanging space above the coffee-making area, light switches/power sockets covered in cling film (do they specialize in guests with filthy hands?).
The only redeeming feature was that the staff were delightful, really wanting to help, even offering to start breakfast (included) early as we had to leave at 8:30 (we declined the offer, but it was appreciated)
