I wished I could give negative reviews. I arrived in the afternoon on the booking day after a long trip in center Vietnam and hoped that the room was ready and I would be able to rest. However, when I arrived, the hotel told me that my room had some water leak and they were not able to let me stay. So they offered me an "equivalent" room from their "partner hotel" nearby.
I questioned them why they never contacted me about the problem, neither through email nor phone and they said they did not have my contact through Agoda. This was a terrible lie because when I walked in, I saw my email on their PC's screen as they pulled up my reservation. And also, I had the reservation through hotels.com, not Agoda. I told the guy about it but he denied that information.
When they took me to the "equivalent room", it was actually a tiny room in a messy family where 1st floor was their dining room and kitchen and 2nd floor was their kids' room with all kind of noise and mess. The room was really old with a smell of moss. Especially the minibar was covered with lots of yellow stains. It was too terrible that I decided to leave and look for another place after staying there for only few hours.
When I walked around the area and checked other hotels, they all told me that they had been overbooked, and last minute prices had gone up few times. So my guess is the leaking problem was just a lie, and the real reason was they sold my room to some last minute offer with higher price.
