We had a nice stay at the Kyi Tin Hotel. The bedroom was spacious, clean, and there was an "old" feeling to the place that we found quite pleasant. WiFi and cable TV were great for those interested. The down sides were the bathroom, which was nor nice nor very clean, and we unfortunately had a lot of mosquitoes in the room. The breakfast was fine, and the property had a nice oasis feel to it which was nice after a day in Mandalay. We didn't hop in the pool but it looked nice. We liked the location, with great street food close by. Heads up: there are a few hotels in the surroundings but it is a few miles from the more touristy places (the Hill, Shwenandaw...).
Overall, we had a good time at the Kyi Tin, and Mandalay is a beautiful city! The building adjacent to the hotel was unfortunately undergoing construction works, which wasn't super pleasant in the morning, but I imagine this is temporary so do not fear!
The kindness and quality of the staff seems to be a habit in Myanmar, but should still be underlined!
