Imagine my horror when I get to the Alamo in Florence and realized I forgot my driver's license in the US. I wasn't allowed to rent a car, and I had two nights already booked in rural but beautiful Monticchiello. With a combination of trains and taxis I was able to make it to the Airbnb... frazzled, tired, and exhausted. That's when I met Kasia and Jarek, turning my trip around.
Kasia and Jarek were working on their beautiful garden when I walked to the residence. You could tell they really care about the place. Jarek spoke English pretty well, which was very helpful in terms of communication. Kasia is quite the baker and had prepared a nice treat :) Jarek also helped me out by taking me to nearby Pienza where he helped me rent a power-assisted bicycle so I could get around the beautiful countryside without a car. This was a life saver, as without a car, you can't really experience all the Tuscan countryside has to offer.
As for the actual location, it was really beautiful, well-arranged, and clean. The fridge was stocked with some food (including eggs). I would highly recommend staying here to everyone, and am definitely looking to plan a second trip back sometime!
By the way, Jarek is also quite the photographer and offers photography classes! I took one :)
