Hotel felt like it was relatively new, staff were very attentive and easy to chat to. Amazing pool on the roof, and gym was well equipped. The hotel is in between two large malls with loads of eating options, and travelling in taxis was really cheap compared to UK.

Unacceptable cleanliness of bedroom and towels
The hotel is located between two large shopping malls and there are many restaurants nearby. It is good for short stay in Penang. However, the cleanliness of bedroom is not up to standard. The first night we arrived, we found that the blankets and pillow coats were stained. We went to the reception and they changed another room for us, but we found that the blankets were stained again some “glue materials” was noticed too. Then they changed another room in the higher floor. We made sure that the blankets were clean and accepted the arrangement. However, there were some black mould over the “grey-colored” bath towels, so we decided to use our own towels instead.

Great hotel, very poor food and beverage.
Hotel is great and house keeping very good. The food and beverage is quite poor for the build of the hotel. The menu is tiny and not great. The drinks are quite poor. Also the staff are not attentive. Theres entire cafes with just no one in attendance at all. It is quite bizarre and they are clearly losing a decent share of money from this. If you went up to me when I was at the pool and asked if I wanted anything I would have, even from the limited menu. The cafe downstairs has never got any staff. If thats the case then just delete the cafe. It is far worse to have a bad, zero service cafe than it is to have a non existent one. Whoever is in charge of the F&B at the hotel really is doing an exemptionally poor job. The rest of the hotel is great. From the door staff to the housekeeping. But the F&B is actually a wonderful example of how not to do something.
