I don’t usually write reviews, but after the disappointing treatment my clients received, I feel compelled to share this experience. We booked this hotel for two of our clients during a film shoot in Edmonton because it was close to the studio, near West Edmonton Mall, and had a 9/10 rating on Hotels.com. However, after reading further reviews, I found that the rating doesn’t accurately reflect the quality of the hotel.
My clients, who travel frequently and stay in hundreds of hotels annually, arrived on November 18. Immediately, they were put off by the noise and chaos in the lobby and hallways. Our female client felt uncomfortable and was even followed by a male guest to her room. Additionally, the room’s cleanliness was far below expectations and inconsistent with the advertised standards. In fact, the hotel is closer to a 6.5/7 rating, not a 9.
After only an hour, both clients checked out due to unsanitary conditions and the safety concerns for our female client. They relocated to the Metterra on Whyte. When we brought this to the attention of the staff, they denied the issues and refused to issue a refund, despite the fact that my clients left after just one hour and didn’t stay for the prepaid three nights. Even after Hotels.com contacted the hotel, they refused the refund, though Hotels.com did provide compensation.
