Hotel staff was very professional although while checking in, they made us wait uncomfortably for some minutes while they discussed something in German which we didn't understand, before acknowledging we were there standing and in need of service. Other than that, our stay was a pleasant one. The hotel location is excellent because it is right across the central train station and the mall. Also, the hotel provided a free coffe and bus pass if guest want to see the city throughout the duration of your stay.

Easy to stay at hotel 1 block from the train station. A little cramped but clean and staff spoke adequate English and were helpful when needed. Good breakfast with a lot of choices. Close to all public transport. Take advantage of the 9 E pass to use most public transit in Germany while you can. That's quite a help to satisfy your wanderlust.

Excellent hotel
The Berliner Hof was in an excellent location, one block from the Hauptbahnhof and central bus station, with many restaurants nearby. The hotel was very comfortable and the staff very helpful. I had to take a bus to the Hamburg airport at 5AM, well before the dining room was open for breakfast. However, the evening before they asked if I would like to take a lunch box the next morning, and I said two pieces of bread and a piece of cheese and a bottle of water would be fine. When I check out the next morning they had 4 sandwiches (2 ham, 2 cheese), some sausages, an apple, and a bottle of juice Just excellent. And the regular breakfast was very good too.
