We booked to stay at the motel, knowing it was an older motel and cottages, we didn't expect the Hilton, however we expected it to be clean and liveable. It was not.
The list proceeds as follows:
- broken TV
- wet/damp carpets throughout
- no AC (it wasn't advertised but may have helped with the wet damp floor feeling!)
- fleas
- broken dripping taps - taps dripped all night
- unemptied garbages from previous guests
- smelled like old smoke in a non smoking cottage
- dirty floor in bathroom
- 2 towels for 3 people
- could barely sleep as terrified of fleas biting us or bed bugs
- empty soap containers
- zero amenties
This was an extremely unpleasant stay, so we left as soon as we got up. We approached the owner who just said "hm, thanks for telling me" we then asked if he could do anything for us, we never would have stayed here, he laughed and said "nope!"
I am disputing it through my credit card. We had to stay there as it was 9PM and no where else to go in that area that time of night and payment had been taken.
I agree we need to pay a fee, but believe that $258 was exorbitant for what we received. I have requested at least $150 back.
Save your money! I thought the cottages were likely newer and in better shape but they were not. I have stayed in quaint older motels before, but this was a slum motel. I wouldn't send ANYONE there!
