Hanoi is already a very cost-effective city for the foreign traveller, so there are a lot of quite good hotels at very reasonable prices, but this hotel is my favourite, so far.
Without quite stretching to a decadent colonial-era five-star, Kecho Legacy comes close in its quite way.
It's off any of the main streets in a quaint alley surrounded by delicious street-food aromas. The interior is the most impressive, and feels like museum or gallery of beautiful objects and artworks of Vietnam. The decor of the rooms also reflects this, with very beautiful design detail.
Like many such hotels, there is a sky-bar on the roof, but this one is nicer than most, with a cozy size, and glass-floored ramps, little extra platforms for a very private individual table or two, and more.
The staff seamlessly attended to requests for transfers and other needs.
I'll choose this hotel again, when I next return to this wonderful city.
