The Attica Guesthouse is located on the first floor of a residential building and offers corridor rooms with separated private bathrooms and a small shared kitchen. I will list positive and negative points from my personal experience (4 nights stay) .
Among positives:
-Friendly host: Maurizio is quick to respond and always eager to help.
-Room amenities: The room comes with a fridge, and complimentary snacks, drinks, and yogurt free of charge.
-Location: Walking distance to historical landmarks like the Baths of Caracalla, the Appian Way, the Colosseum, and convenient for La Nuvola convention center.
Among negatives:
-Distance from metro: nearest Garbatella station is 1.5 km away, which can be inconvenient for walking, especially late hours.
-Value for money: The price for a corridor room is comparable to a studio or budget hotel, plus additional costs like €20 for cleaning and €7 per person/night for city tax (payable on-site) add up.
-While the bathroom is private, it's located outside the room in the shared corridor, which reduces the level of privacy compared to having an ensuite. You still need to step into the common area to access it. Mornings can be quite noisy as other guests use the shared corridor for their bathrooms and the kitchen.
