This hotel is close to the beach but not crazy-expensive. The rooms are configured a bit strangely, but everything is clean and comfortable (except the pillows, imho). Air conditioners blast the beds, so you might need the extra blanket. The rooms are varied - we stayed in two, and each had its own quirks, but both were just fine. Kitchenette is sparce, but they do provide a bottle opener, jaja. Internet is uneven, but works most of the time. Breakfast is included and is great if you are a fruit/granola/bread type. No so much if you like to avoid sugar for breakfast, but eggs and weiners are available every day. The pool was a bit utilitarian (no comfy chairs, umbrellas sometimes), but the beach is steps away so...The gym was our biggest disappointment - just a few (very light) free weights, and an all-in-one combo weight machine that was literally coming undone - I was able to tighten a few bolts with my bare hands, but I would consider it unsafe. A few cardio machines. Meh. The staff are great - not all speak English (but they do live in Brazil...just saying...) and some might seem a bit unfriendly, but try a few words of Portuguese and they are all smiles. Front desk staff are especially awesome...the woman (name??) found us a room early after overnight flight and is mulitlingual. Don't think she ever goes home. Remembered us between visits...super nice. Another fellow (big guy - name??) talked me down and helped out when I had a travel document emergency.
