The Pendry DC is a truly beautiful property that delivers all the luxury feels. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed. They accommodated an early check-in, and when I casually mentioned my boyfriend’s birthday and that we were in town for the Cowboy Carter tour, they went above and beyond—later surprising us with a handwritten birthday card and a treat from their bakery. Such a personal, thoughtful touch!
We spent most of our stay enjoying the pool area, which does fill up quickly, but I was lucky to snag seats every day. It’s a great place to relax with fantastic views.
Our room was spotless throughout our stay, with sweet little trinkets left behind by housekeeping that added a lovely personal touch. Staff in general were undeniably pleasant and welcoming.
The only disappointment came at Moonraker, the rooftop restaurant. We had a reservation for a celebratory dinner but ended up sitting for an hour without any service. It was disheartening, especially since it was meant to be a special night. I did share this with the manager, who was very apologetic and offered to comp dinner the following evening or breakfast instead, which I appreciated as a genuine attempt to make things right.
Overall, I’d rate the Pendry DC an 8.5 out of 10. It’s a gorgeous, design-forward hotel with warm service and plenty of thoughtful details—just be sure to plan for the busy pool scene and clarify expectations at the rooftop if it’s a big occasion.
