I booked two rooms; there were 2 in each room, but 3 were arriving separately from me. If they arrived first, I wanted them to be able to get into both rooms. With that, they had my credit card, but refused to let anyone in a room until the one person with the credit card arrived (me.) I called and offered to pay the night before but the night accounting person refused to charge it until I was there to show my ID and the original card. I offered to text him a copy of my ID, credit card and a pic of me with a piece of paper with the date on it. He would not let me do that--it had to be in person. He told me NO hotel would ever let you in without the original card and ID in person. We all know that is absurd as people get charged on their cards ahead of time all over the world. So when I arrived, both rooms were in my friend's name instead of mine--so we had to go through the exercise of proving the res was made by me. But obviously I arrived first--getting the keys for both rooms--then when my friends arrived, they wanted to charge one of their cards for the second room for which I had already paid. At the end of the stay, they demanded all keys to the rooms--like we would have been tackled had we not (and I mean DEMANDED--and I understand that--why waste plastic?) But the entire visit, we felt like criminals.
