During our five-day stay here, we found the accommodations satisfactory. The bed was comfortable and clean, the air conditioning worked well, and the bathroom, equipped with a hairdryer, was decent. However, it's worth noting that there were no toiletries provided, such as soap or shampoo. Additionally, there was no complimentary water available in the room or at the reception, although there were functioning refrigerator and microwave facilities. We were required to provide a $100 deposit upon check-in, but had no issues receiving it back at the end of our stay.
For the surroundings, we often returned to the hotel between midnight and 2 am from the subway and felt safe. There were people around, and they seemed to be minding their own business. We even noticed police officers outside the hotel on one occasion, but they were there for vigilance purposes, which added to our sense of security.
In general, considering its price point, the area feels safe and clean. It's a convenient option for daily trips to Manhattan, with a subway fare of only $3 and a 45-minute commute.
