It’s a great experience trying the old-style rooms. Because you’re sleeping on the floor the mattress and pillow is stiffer than the average hotel ones, which we loved. Location is in the middle of everywhere which means walking to a station or a nearby busier area is about a 10 min walk.

Ideal stay in Kyoto
It was such a magical experience. To stay in a modern hotel converted into traditional Japanese room with modern amenities was such an experience. The location of the hotel was perfect since it was centrally located and easy to walk to train stations, restaurants and tourist spots. The staff were very accommodating and friendly going out of their way to cater to your needs. And as a bonus, the tea house setup by the lobby was perfect way to spend a quiet morning or cap up the long day with stories with your friends.
