The hotel is actually a private residence in a decent neighborhood in Florence. Proceeds from room rentals are used to help people with various types of handicaps.
The single room I occupied was fine for a solo traveler, but, be aware that the rooms were not cleaned at all over the 3 nights that I spent there. Also, the hotel is only staffed from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. On my final night at the hotel, I blew a fuse and had no electricity in the room and there was no one available to help so I had to stay in the dark until staff came in the morning.
Hotel staff that I interacted with was extremely friendly and helpful in assisting me with moving around the city.
If you're a budget traveler or only need a room for a night, this would be a good option, but, if you are in Florence for more than a night, I would look for another place to stay.
