Kudos to the Wingate hotel staff and management for maintaining a spotless hotel. The staff -- from front desk to housekeeping to the thoughtful breakfast attendant -- offered warm greetings and clearly wanted to ensure a positive experience. In hospitality, good staff makes the difference. I travel often and whether it's a convenience chain hotel or 5-star resort, customers want to feel appreciated. Expectations are usually low for this genre of hotel, but the Wingate certainly exceeded expectations -- others should learn from the staff and leadership. One thing, though: As we learn more about plastic and disposals, please do away with single-use plastics and packaging, or switch to compostables.
