I didn’t even get to check in. I drove 16 hours nonstop from Texas and arrived at 3 in the morning to then be told that I would have to wait until 3pm to check in. After explaining my situation, I was told that there were no rooms available and that housekeeping would have to get me one cleaned after someone else had checked out. This was after calling to find out if there was availability in order to book the room.
I was frustrated and can understand that maybe there was a miscommunication upon booking the room, but what I can’t understand is why the front desk would then talk to another staff member about my situation as I stood off to the side to try to find other arrangements and hear them SCOFF at me. It was humiliating and infuriating. I was already exhausted and probably didn’t look my best but nonetheless, I have never been treated so poorly by hotel staff in my life. A supervisor was never even called to see if anything could be done to at least attempt to rectify the situation.
I ended up driving 30 minutes to The Marriott where upon hearing what I had just gone through, had a room was made ready prior to my arrival and I was treated with respect and kindness even though they had 2 large events, one of which was a wedding, and were also fully booked.
I will never book with The Hilton ever again.
