We were very unhappy with our accommodation. The floors were really dirty (particularly behind doors - see images), the roof in the bathroom was mouldy and poorly lit, the shower floor was so grotty that we couldn't use it. The window faced the street (which was very noisy), was missing a blind so the light and noise could not be mitigated and it was really cold and damp.
We paid for two nights and arrived late on Friday. We checked out on Saturday. We reported the conditions to the hotel and we reported that we were leaving due to the conditions.
We were not offered any resolution, no offer to send housekeeping to rectify, no offer to return any of our money, the staff were very dismissive. We even approached the hotel after we returned to Tasmania to see if management had a different perspective and we received no response.
We wasted our money, were forced to spend substantially more for another hotel at short notice on a Saturday in the Melbourne CBD as we had a family event to attend. We wasted countless hours trying to find alternative accommodation and moving between locations.
It was the first time my husband and I had travelled without children in years and we had high hopes for a wonderful time. This experience ruined our holiday.
