Santander was busy and vibrant with many people out walking and sitting socialising, eating and drinking. There is an obvious outdoor, active culture. Beautiful walk from the port to the main beach on a sunny January day, we loved it.

Santander is a fabulous city, take a boat ride to the empty sandy beach, and visit the great little craft beer bars

Vegan options thin on the ground, the fact a lot of restaurants close for four and a half hours in the middle of the day is of course very Spanish, but we had missed the lunch session when we arrived.

Very vibrant and lots to do. Personally ok for a couple of days probably wouldn't stay longer than that, but this is just personal preference.

Was there for two nights and think that any longer would be a bit of a drag unless in summer and spending time at beach

"El hotel esta localizado en la estacion Valdecilla la Marga que te comunica con el tren de cercanias a Santander. Muy facil el uso de transporte publico. En 15 minutos llegas a la estacion de trenes de Santander. Hotel muy agradable con excelente desayuno. Muy buena habitacion familiar (4 personas)"
"Super clean, big room, nice staff. Residential neighborhood so a 10 minute walk to the center. Not in the heart of things and no lobby as it is kind of an "apart-hotel" but the size, cleanliness and price made it a pleasant, memorable stay. Staff was super kind and welcoming. Note that there is not a 24 hour front desk but access and check in was super easy. "
"The only thing is that due to its location the parking is complicated and smelly, we just left the car in there to the last day. The breakfast buffet was just good, but they don’t clean the used tables, so we moved the dirty dishes ti another table to be able to seat where we want, and you need to ask for juice etc; the staff were good and nice, but what happen is that there’re only two workers; they moved fast and wanted to help everyone but there were much of guest for only two staff. On the other hand Marea Alta has great menu and the staff was very professional and friendly; the paella was exquisite, I recommend it. "
"The location was close to many restaurants and shops. Very safe and walkable area. Close to many attractions and historical landmarks. The hotel was very clean, the room spacious and staff friendly. "
