Hotels in Des Châtels

"This hotel is reasonably priced and looks great from the photos online. We arrived around 9:30 pm and there were several homeless people passing by the parking lot, with a couple non-homeless looking guys acting sketchy in the parking lot to the point I was afraid they would break into guests’ vehicles. THERE IS NO ELEVATOR SO YOU HAVE TO CARRY YOUR LUGGAGE FOR UP TO 3 FLIGHTS OF STAIRS. Our room was on the top floor (3rd), making it very difficult to carry large heavy suitcases and a cooler up. We had a large enough room with 2 queen beds and a kitchen. Beds were clean, but there was visible mold in a gap between a bathroom baseboard and door frame and mold in the cabinet of the bathroom sink. The free continental breakfast was very limited (bread/Costco 2-bite cinnamon rolls/ cheese croissants/yogurt/boiled eggs/cereal/oranges). We are used to free breakfasts that include scrambled eggs/waffles in a do-it-yourself waffle maker/bacon/sausage, and there was none of that. But they did say Continental, not mentioning any warm items, so I should have expected a very limited breakfast like they had. The exterior of the hotel is also not apparent as a hotel when arriving in the dark to the rear parking lot. We questioned whether our GPS took us to the right place."

"we were given room210. At first glance it was great. It opened to the pool area and there was a little patio. Unfortunately we were there on a week end and there was a singer somewhere in the hotel and her music was piped to the pool area. she was not bad ad I probably would have been happy to hear her for 30 minutes but for over 2 hours (and loud) is not what I was looking for after a long voyage. The next night there was no music but the huge screen around the pool was projecting an underwater film the entire night. Although there was no sound the reflection penetrated into the room since the curtains did not close completely and illuminated the room disturbing the sleep. There was no reason to have the film on all night. If you want peace and quiet request a room not facing the pool. Otherwise the hotel is fine."

"We loved the place. Awesome that they had buffet breakfast included. Although had very limited choice and no lactose free options. We would have hoped the pool would have been opened later. It closed at 9pm which was too early for us. We unfortunately didn’t get to enjoy as we would have hoped."

It is a very large hotel but well worth the walk through to enjoy the beauty. Everything is at the door step, restaurants, Dufferin Terrace, shops along with a great view."
