Had a splendid stay at Pergola B&B. Traveling on my own I felt safe in Lucca and the areas surrounding the B&B which is vey central for everything in the old town of Lucca. The hostess Lucia was very nice - and the breakfast included was good (more than you get elsewhere Italian wise). Would definitely recommend this and also stay here again should I ever revisit Lucca - which I hope. Such a nice and cosy city.

This wonderful small hotel is located on a quiet street five minutes away from Piazza Napoleone. It is in a historic building and has a lot of character. The bathroom is very modern and had a good selection of toiletries. The staff is super friendly and welcoming, they serve a great continental breakfast every morning. You can walk to all the places of interest easily, as well as to the train station and to the bus hub in Piazzale Verdi. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would happily stay here again !

Wonderful place to stay. The building is a charming, old house, the ceiling is hugh and the old furniture gives you all the magic you need. Nice view over the center of Lucca, nice persons at the breakfast table, cozy and familiar.

Great service, lovely pastries for breakfast

This was a lovely place to stay in Lucca. Check-in was via a keycode entry, which can be a little annoying. This was especially difficult here for another guest I observed late at night when it was dark who couldn't see the small sign. Whilst I prefer a staff member to check me in, it was easy enough. The breakfast pastries were excellent, as were the staff there to help. I asked to use an iron for my shirt as I was attending a wedding and the wonderful lady offered to iron it for me! So great.

No problem checking in after dark. The laundry that was advertised was full of dirty linens. The kitchen was full of half empty food boxes. The remnants from that day’s breakfast were still on the sideboard. The next morning, a large amount of the very old gap filler for the roof and dust had fallen into our bed. Yuck. Alternative accommodation was found for us at another B&B in town. Not a fan. Spoilt our experience of Lucca and B&B in general.

Beautiful B&B

A beautiful B&B in Lucca. Located in a quiet street across from a church. Easy to walk to from the station and other attractions. There is a self service laundry near by. You get keys to the entrance, I had no problem in using these. Room was very clean. Lovely bathroom. The shower was not too small (like most Italian hotels) and worked well. The breakfast was good. The usual meats and sweets. Free water x2 provided in the room and a kettle and tea bags. No mini fridge. No TV but this is not missed in this beautiful city. Only suggestion for improvement was the bed. It was quite noisy to move on, however did not dramtically affect my stay. Would definitely stay here again.

Lucca is quite compact once you're used to it and there are some good restaurants near. The room was lovely and clean and very good en suite. There was a bit of noise outside at night and the bed was very squeaky despite being new. Although we ultimately didn't use the kitchen area I believe it was possible. No email arrived with entry instructions which was very worrying. In the end we had to phone Lucia to get access when we were there. Breakfast was simple, very sweet Italian pastries, cereal, meats and cheese (but on the same plate which was a problem for this vegetarian) and could've done with some fruit. No tea facilities in the room but this was possible from a coffee machine in the breakfast area.
