Our experience at The Boot Inn
We arrived early on our first day to enjoy meals from the lunch time menu. Both means were excellent, generous portions that were well cooked and presented. The waitress being very friendly and helpful.
The check in however was not a pleasant experience, embarrassing to say the least.In front of several customers in the bar area we were asked to pay for our stay. We explained that the payment had left our bank account the day before even showing her the pending amount on our mobile bank account. We were told that as it was not showing on their system we hadn't paid and that the pending amount only meant that it was what we owed. A more senior member of staff, who may have been a manageress or owner, not sure, was tapping away on her phone and without saying a word just nodded her approval to the one checking us in.( a private area would be better) Without any apology we were then showed to our room, which was basic, but in need of maintenance and cleaning. The curtain hold backs of one window had come unfixed and were lying on the window cill, the room would benefit from redecorating and the radiator bleeding.
The shower room looks good but showing its age with stained grouting especially the base and those areas hard to get to.
The bed was so high that it was very difficult to get on to.
Only staying one night ,didnt want a battle so we did not raise any issues with the manageress, who was stoned faced with no warmth or feeling as we didnt want to spoil our weekend.
