Booked The Belsfield as it was cheaper than others in the Lakes. On arrival, scaffolding, ladders, and dirt greeted us. Check in felt unprofessional, and the carpets and corridors were marked, smelly, and dated. Room was tired with damp on the bathroom ceiling.
Noise was an issue screaming and loud furniture moving next door in the middle of the night. Reception moved them but communication was poor. Breakfast was cramped, dark, and uninviting, with a “sit anywhere” policy.
Check out was slow with only one person on the desk and no interest in how our stay was. The hotel seems focused on exterior work while the interior desperately needs refurbishment. Would not return
