My recent stay at Hotel Casona Corrales in Cusco was a mix of highs and lows.
On the positive side, the location is truly fantastic. It’s a very easy walk to the main Plaza de Armas and all the nearby attractions like the Cathedral and the charming San Blas neighborhood. The proximity to local shops and restaurants made exploring the town incredibly convenient. Our room offered beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and even the square. The property itself has a wonderful, elegant colonial vibe, and the staff were consistently helpful and attentive throughout our stay. The on-site spa was also a nice perk after a long day of sightseeing.
However, there were a few issues that impacted our experience. The number of stairs was a major drawback, especially for a room on the top floor. Climbing that many flights, particularly with the effects of altitude, was genuinely tiring. The bathroom was also a bit of a letdown—it was tiny, with hardly any space to move around or hang anything. Additionally, the Wi-Fi connection was quite unreliable.
Again, I want to highlight that the front desk staff were fantastic and super helpful!
Ultimately, while the location and aesthetic of Hotel Casona Corrales are great, the issues with the stairs, tiny bathroom, and connectivity problems make it difficult for me to give it a glowing recommendation.
