Pastel-painted houses cling to the hillside above a harbor where fishing boats still outnumber yachts. The scent of fresh focaccia mingles with salt air along the promenade where locals gather for evening passeggiata. Brave the steep staircases between buildings for rewarding views across the Golfo Paradiso. The tiny beach fills with Italian families in summer, their animated conversations providing free entertainment. Take a boat to San Fruttuoso Abbey, tucked into a cove accessible only by sea or challenging hike. Order the catch of the day at harbor restaurants where fishermen delivered it hours earlier. Save room for gelato while watching sunset paint the Mediterranean gold from the medieval castle that once protected this authentic slice of Ligurian life.
The property was lovely but the staff was another level. Everyone from the front desk, to the restaurant, the spa, and the door staff were all welcoming and accommodating.
Simone and Jessica made our entire stay completely hassle free. The restaurant had great menu and the food was excellent.
Highly recommend, I can’t wait to be back.
It is a cozy, cute hotel tucked in the beautiful hills of Camogli. The room was clean and came with snacks and a coffee maker in it. The hotel provided fresh focaccia every morning. Staff was friendly and spoke English which was a plus for us as we don't speak Italian.
Hotel staff was amazing and friendly, so kind and nice. This hotel is an old mansion, there are only about 16 rooms, directly overlooking the walkway that is on the water and overlooking the ocean. Our room had a patio looking out at the ocean, with a hot tube, we slept with the doors open and the sound of waves all night long. The breakfast is served in a beautiful room with about 10 tables, floor to ceiling windows looking out at the Mediterranean Sea. Breakfast was excellent quality. If...
Amazing hotel! I wanted to stay here forever! The town of Camogli is truly remarkable and one of the most beautiful places I have stayed at on the Italian Riviera. Highly recommend! There is also easy access via ferry to gorgeous San Fruttuoso and Portofino! There's also a train very close walking distance from the hotel that you can take to get to the Cinque Terre towns in around 45 mins. Camogli and Cenobio dei Dogi though are so beautiful you won't want to leave this town. The hotel has...
Hotel Vis a Vis is absolutely gorgeous! I am truly overwhelmed with its beauty and the amazing staff. The front desk staff are so welcoming with outstanding customer service. The view from the rooftop is beyond imagination-one of the most beautiful views in Italy. Maurizio at the restaurant is just incredible. The food delicious. Due to train strike , Laura arranged Khalid to drive me to Rapollo. She and he have outstanding care for the customer, along with Maurizio, entire front desk, bar...
This hotel was a short ride from Cinque Terre and was our home base for a week in Sept. We fell in love with Sestri Levante along the way and the hotel was central and convenient to everything this amazing town had to offer. Wonderful staff and beautiful historic hotel. Beach across the street. A gem.
I really enjoyed the stay at Hotel Miramare! Excellent and helpful staff. Very pretty and spacious lobby areas. Because we were three people they moved us for no extra charge to a huge apartment on the fourth floor that could easily sleep five! It was very nice -- I just wished that it was decorated like the other rooms, it was plain compared to them. But all in all, we loved it there and you will not be disappointed! Right on the Baia del Silenzio beach with complimentary lounge chairs and...
Absolutely breathtaking hilltop gem in Rapallo – we felt like we were living in a painting! We arrived in Rapallo on May 5th and stayed at Hotel L’Approdo, and it immediately exceeded every expectation. The hotel is just a 7-minute taxi ride from the Rapallo train station, but once you arrive, you feel transported to another world. Perched high on the hill, the location is simply unbeatable. The moment we opened the curtains to our balcony, we were speechless. The view is absolutely breathtaking...
Good hotel with nice secluded pool and sitting area (though we did not use). Roadside setting requires transport to nearby seaside town. Connected restaurant was average quality. Good breakfast and nice, accommodating staff. Had to leave a day early and was only asked to cover the hotel's Expedia markup.
My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Astoria for 6 nights in March. Overall, it is one of the very best hotels I have stayed in over many years of traveling -- solid, classy, very well-located building; comfortable room with a view of the Bay of Tigullio; a bounteous, tasty breakfast; and perhaps most important, hands-on, fully engaged hotel owners and employees who really care for their guests' comfort and enjoyment of the many attractions of Rapallo and the Ligurian coast.
We recently stayed at HM and loved the hotel. We were traveling with our 11 year old son and we were given a room with an adjoining smaller room perfect for our son with his own balcony. The main room was spacious, modern, and also a beautiful balcony with sea view. The location is absolutely ideal-close to the train, directly situated on the sea with both beach and pool, right in the heart of SM with ample access to restaurants and shopping. The staff were friendly, accommodating and the...
We arrived at the hotel late night & the front desk called to make us a dinner reservation down the street! He was so kind & we had an amazing meal! Views from the terrace were amazing, we hope to visit again some day.
