I’ve stayed here while on business several times. To me, it’s worth the premium because the location is quieter (especially at night), the rooms are clean and comfortable, the staff is friendly and helpful, and although the fitness center is small, it has a variety of new equipment.
Hotel staff was amazing and friendly, so kind and nice. This hotel is an old mansion, there are only about 16 rooms, directly overlooking the walkway that is on the water and overlooking the ocean. Our room had a patio looking out at the ocean, with a hot tube, we slept with the doors open and the sound of waves all night long. Stayed there for 2 nights, everything was great. Rooms are somewhat small, which is to be expected for compact city. The location is great, all main attractions are within walking distance, even for our 6 year old.

My stay at Best Western Metropoli was very enjoyable! The location of this hotel is perfect in many ways. Close to Palazzo Ferrari and all the sites in Genoa. Plus, very conveniently located to transportation, dining and shopping. The staff ware very friendly, kind and accommodating! Hotel is in great location however getting there is little bit confusing. At first parking is completely different location ( which is understandable but I would like to know it before so I don't have to find temporary parking spot which is not easy, then find the hotel, then go to 4th floor, then go back to the car, then find the garage, then back to the hotel) Other than that it's clean and very nice space. Communication with front desk in English is kinda challenging.
This was a family run hotel and they made sure that their guests were happy and comfortable. At check in, the owner gave us a map of the area and pinpointed the main streets and attractions. It turned to be very helpful. The room turned to be a pleasant surprise. I booked a room with 3 beds, expecting a small room like anywhere in Europe, but we were given an appartment. Very happy with it. The room was quiet and the beds comfortable. I would recommend this hotel to anyone!
