Love Nanaimo. People are warm & super friendly. Enjoying the outdoors & seaside amenities. The parks are well planned and playgrounds have interesting equipment for kiddies and older children. Kudos

You have to drive to the park at the waterfront to get the spirits of Naniamo ---the park with childrens play --and attractive walkways along the waterfront is a heart-warming experience.

Nanaimo is a city struggling with a number of problems and yet I felt relatively safe herem
"I had a wonderful experience here. They were very accommodating to me and my Girl Guide Unit.
The staff was very understanding and helped me out when needed. There was an issue trying to get ahold of the front desk on the one day (over 1.5 hours to get a hold of anyone - we called & went to the counter & no one was around. And there were a bunch of people wanting to check in).
Breakfast is the basic free breakfast, but it hit the spot to get us going. I would say being there early because each morning, they ran out of drinks & food.
I love the fact that they had games to bring to the rooms to play. That was a hit for the girls in their rooms.
The lake is beautiful and peaceful. You can sit on your deck and enjoy a coffee/tea with your breakfast and enjoy the scenery."
"Excellent location at downtown. Just a step to free shuttle to hullo ferry terminal. Walkable at downtown. Oceanview room is a plus to our trip. Front desk staff are friendly and helpful. Check-in and out are smooth. Steps to ferry terminals to other islands. Evening view is incredible. Three restaurants on site. Definitely recommend to stay. Will come back for sure."
"The hotel was great, friendly staff, clean room and hotel. Construction on road made access to front entrance difficult. Exit through underground parking wasn’t easy to find and had us going up a smelly elevator to an unsafe area. Loved the room and the Housekeeper was very helpful and kind. "
"We stayed here after travelling from the interior and catching the late ferry. It was a great stopover with our two young kids. The room was clean, updated, and the whole grounds felt safe to be in. We showed up after check in hours but the reception left our key for us so we didn’t have to worry about timing. I would recommend staying here !"
" Very friendly and helpful staff. Our room was comfortable and had good sound proofing considering the TransCanada noise outside. Easy access to the ferries. Will stay here any time we travel through Nanaimo. "
