Top neighborhoods in Sharjah

Al Khan
Al Khan balances coastal charm with rich heritage, perfect for travelers seeking authentic Emirati culture. The breezy waterfront promenade offers stunning Persian Gulf views while the ancient fishing village reveals its maritime past through the Al Khan Heritage Museum. Sharjah Aquarium and Maritime Museum give families a splash of education with their sea-life encounters. Waterfront restaurants dish up fresh seafood and local flavors without the Dubai price tags. Traditional guesthouses dot the shoreline, many featuring classic Emirati décor and cultural experiences. The neighborhood's walkable corniche connects major attractions, though taxis provide the easiest transport for venturing into central Sharjah.

Al Majaz
Al Majaz dazzles visitors with its stunning waterfront promenade along Khalid Lagoon. The famous Sharjah Fountain puts on spectacular water and light shows after sunset. Families gather at Al Majaz Park's manicured gardens while culture enthusiasts enjoy performances at the amphitheatre. Al Noor Mosque's elegant silhouette creates perfect photo opportunities against the lagoon backdrop. Waterfront dining options range from casual cafes to upscale restaurants serving Emirati and international cuisine. Most attractions are within walking distance along wide, pedestrian-friendly promenades. Taxis and public buses connect visitors easily to Sharjah city center and Dubai.

Beach & Coast
Beach & Coast dazzles with golden sandy shores perfect for soaking up Arabian Gulf views. Families splash at Al Khan Beach while adventure seekers try parasailing and jet skiing at the water sports centers. The palm-lined promenade makes sunset strolls an absolute must, with the bonus of spotting traditional dhow boats bobbing offshore. Fresh seafood restaurants and beach lounges offer perfect spots to unwind after a day in the sun. Most resorts provide direct beach access with pools and full amenities. Getting around is easiest by taxi or simply walking the well-maintained coastal paths that connect the main attractions.

Al Nahda
Al Nahda offers a peaceful residential escape near the Dubai-Sharjah border with family-friendly vibes and authentic local flavor. You'll find diverse restaurants serving Pakistani, Indian, and Arabic cuisine tucked into apartment complexes. Small neighborhood parks provide spots for evening strolls away from Dubai's tourist bustle. The nearby Sahara Centre and Safeer Mall satisfy shopping needs without downtown prices. Budget-friendly apartments and hotels make this area perfect for cost-conscious travelers looking to explore both emirates. Public buses connect you easily to Dubai's attractions while keeping your wallet happy. The evening atmosphere stays quiet and relaxed, with late-night shawarma stands and 24-hour cafeterias serving locals rather than tourists.
Hizayib az Zanah
Sharjah's Hizayib az Zanah neighborhood is home to attractions such as Sharjah City Centre and Safeer Mall.

"They have great staff"

"Thank Once Again! Just please make sure the soda and shampoo dispensers work well. This time round they seem liked they were jammed!"
Sofitel Dubai The Palm Resort & Spa
"We stayed at Sofitel Dubai The Palm for 4 nights in August as a family of 5, with children aged 7, 14 and 17. We booked a 2-bedroom Family Apartment, which was spacious and worked well for five. However, it felt dated and would benefit from modernisation. The kitchen has a full-size fridge/freezer, washing machine and combination oven, but wasn’t well equipped for five. We had to request extra glasses and more clothes hangers. The hotel provided these promptly. There was no coffee machine, although one was brought to us when requested. The filtered water was only lukewarm, but the hotel supplied complimentary bottled water. We also found the beds quite firm, but a mattress topper was provided. The resort was very busy in August, with the pool and common areas feeling relatively small and limited loungers. We didn’t use the beach because of the heat, although it would be more enjoyable in cooler months. The buffet had a good selection and the Porterhouse steak restaurant was excellent. Half board and the dine-around option gave us plenty of choice. Drinks are expensive, with bottled water around £8–£10 per litre. Breakfast gets extremely busy, so arrive early if you prefer a calmer experience. Following a few issues, management kindly provided lounge access, which was much quieter and greatly improved our stay. The staff and management were friendly and helpful throughout. Overall, I’d recommend it for a 3–4 night family stay at the right price as it’s a nice hotel."
Sofitel Dubai Downtown
"Great hotel with an amazing buffet breakfast. Hotel was close to the mall walkway so it took maybe 10 minutes walking indoors to reach the mall."

Atlantis The Royal
"Absolutely incredible experience at Atlantis The Royal! The hotel is stunning, luxurious, and truly on another level. The rooms are beautiful, the facilities are world-class, and the attention to detail throughout the property is impressive. The pools, restaurants, and overall atmosphere made our stay unforgettable. What really stood out was the service—everyone was professional, friendly, and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience. Atlantis The Royal definitely lives up to the hype. One of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed at, and we would absolutely come back!"
Taj Exotica Resort & Spa, The Palm, Dubai
"Lovely hotel - second time staying here but honestly we don't think we would come back as Varq, Roaring Rabbit and Raia were shut most of our stay... otherwise super clean hotel and we very much enjoyed our stay otherwise."
