Hotel Riu Palace Swahili - All Inclusive - Adults Only
10/10 Excellent
"I had an ocean-view room, which was clean, spacious, and very comfortable. The buffet was good with plenty of options, and there were several à la carte restaurants for dinner that were included as well.
I also liked that the beach wasn't private. It gave us the chance to meet friendly, talented local people. Some performed traditional dances, while others sold souvenirs. They were always polite and never pushy. You can also take a nice walk along the beautiful white-sand beach and browse the local shops.
My husband and I spent five nights here and enjoyed every minute of our stay."
"Great location right on the water. Very well priced for a great experience in Nungwi. Nothing bad to say about the place. Beds are pretty firm, but thsts pretty standard for Zanzibar and most Southern African places (that are not 5 stars and super expensive). Would definitely come back again"
"We had the best stay and would highly recommend Riu Palace Hotel Zanzibar to anyone visiting Zanzibar. Every part of our holiday exceeded our expectations.
The staff were exceptional and always made us feel so welcome. A special mention goes to the entertainment team, who were full of energy and made every day so enjoyable. The aqua aerobics was a particular highlight!
The evening bar staff were also fantastic. They were incredibly friendly, attentive and always went the extra mile.
The included water sports were a bonus and added even more to our experience. The location is stunning, with breathtaking views wherever you look. Our room was beautiful, comfortable and spotlessly cleaned every day.
The food was outstanding throughout our stay. There was plenty of choice, and the fish was consistently cooked to perfection. We also really enjoyed the speciality restaurants, where both the food and service were excellent.
We also booked an unforgettable day trip to Mikumi National Park for a safari, as well as a trip to Mnemba Island where we swam with dolphins and snorkelled among tropical fish. We also visited the turtle sanctuary, which was another fantastic experience. Definitely do this early in the morning before all the tourist arrive. All of these excursions made our holiday even more memorable.
Overall, this hotel has everything you could want for a relaxing holiday. We would definitely return and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it."
"Amazing food at this hotel and some really nice staff. Having walked around Nungwi and Kendwa, I genuinely think this is one of the best hotels in the area!"
"The rooms were nice. The only downside, no shelves in the bathroom or shower area to lay out your toiletries. The master bedroom didn't have a table to put the suitcases on, always digging out from the floor.
Dinner, lunch and breakfast food was good. Beach area was great. You can order drinks or food right from your umbrella. Close to ATM, Minimal and medical facilities."
"Great place to stay in Kendwa Beach. In case you are staying on a Wednesday, book including the dinner. There is an excellent dinner and show on every Wednesday"
"We had a wonderful stay! The room was very clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help with any questions we had. The ocean view was absolutely beautiful and made our stay even more relaxing. We also enjoyed spending time at the pool, which was clean and well-kept. Overall, this was a lovely place to stay, and we would definitely recommend it to other travelers looking for a relaxing and enjoyable vacation."
"Property grounds were nice. Rooms are a bit dated. The TV and telephone in our room did not work. Manager at reception was very accommodating and made our stay much better. The massages were excellent. Highly recommend them.! Wifi is awful! Love the balconies! The other downside is the beach, the beach is beautiful but you have to pay 25$ for 2 chairs and umbrella every day if you want to be on the beach. Otherwise they do have beach chairs on man made beach near infinity pool. Just depends on your preference! Food is ok. Nothing to rave about but something for everyone!"
