We needed a last minute place in Milan & the private room in this hostel was the best price. Our check in went great, but when we discovered that the air conditioning wasn't working, the front desk (Asher) started making excuses about why she couldn't fix it (even saying that the individual temperature apparatus was not individual to rooms when it clearly was). The next day, another staff member (I forget her name, but very bubbly & sweet) was able to easily help us. The walls were quite thin, wifi was weak, & the beds were not very comfortable (but there were 2 comfy pillows per bed which was a plus). The space & bathroom was decent for a private room in a European hostel. While cumbersome to punch in multiple codes to access different areas (entrance, elevator, stairs, room), this would make me feel safe if I were traveling solo. The location can't be beat so close to the train station & public transport as well as tons of cafes, restaurants. The in-house bar looked very active w/ live music at night - would be a great place to meet others for backpackers & solo travelers who are okay with a little discomfort & noise. For older travelers looking for a bit more "hotel", you're better off paying $20-30 more per night at a nearby place. We left 2 days into our 4 day reservation because we had friends offering us a free place to stay elsewhere.
