When you think of a 5-star hotel, you expect quality and good service, but this stay was a huge disappointment. It started well when the male receptionist offered us an upgrade to a larger room, but it only had one “king-size” bed instead of the two doubles we booked. The bed was more like a queen, and we barely slept the first night. He promised to fix it the next day but never did. The second night we had to use the sofa as a bed, and my travel companion slept terribly. We only got a new room on the third night of our four-night stay. The same receptionist was rude and unhelpful throughout.
The hotel is old and worn, especially the bathroom. The bathtub plug didn’t work, the drain was clogged, and water filled up while showering. The hairdryer and safe didn’t work in both rooms. Every night our key cards stopped working, forcing us to go down to the rude night receptionist who acted annoyed to help. He even lied about arranging a new room.
The hotel felt empty and soulless, and the food was mediocre and overpriced. Breakfast was the biggest letdown – I can make a better omelet at home. Overall, nothing about this place felt close to 5 stars. Poor service, broken facilities, bad food, and zero hospitality. Not worth the money – feels more like a 1-star hotel.
