I recently stayed in a studio room in Santorini and unfortunately, it didn’t live up to expectations based on the listing on Expedia. The room was very small for three people and looked quite different from the pictures shown online. I initially chose this place because the photos suggested a private balcony with a view of Fira, but the room we were given had no view at all—it honestly felt more like a cave.
When I brought this up, the owner explained that the photos represented the entire property, not the specific room, which was really misleading. Eventually, we were moved to a different room, still small, but at least it had direct access to the outdoors, which helped a bit.
On a positive note, the space was clean and had clearly been recently renovated. Still, I don’t feel it was worth the price I paid. In fact, when I checked the Expedia site again, I noticed that the rate shown was nearly three times lower than what I was charged. That was quite disappointing.
All in all, I would recommend looking more carefully at the room details before booking and confirming exactly what you’re getting—especially if views and value for money are important to you.
