There is no mention of the deposit being required to be cash, or the complete lack of “standard” hotel amenities including drinking water!
Once you chat with them on Whatsapp they tell you about all of the amenities being absent except for towels and bath soap.
When we arrived at the hotel we had to wait for the PIK Gold Coast representative to arrive and escort us to our room.
He informed me I could not pay the deposit by credit card, and only took cash. At this point, evening, I expressed concern about checking out at 2:30am that same night. How would I receive my deposit back?
He told my wife and I not to worry, that we could just call the numbers he gave me, and someone from the admin team would meet us and return the deposit.
Not all of the beds have sheets, so I ask for sheets. I also ask for the wifi, which was given to me, although the password was incorrect.
In the morning we woke up and got ready to check out. I called and texted all four numbers I had been given, and none of them answered. I dropped off the key in the drop box, as per his instruction, and then left.
Finally they responded to my chat messages, hours later, to say they didn’t know I was leaving so early. They played the blame game saying I never let them know, and said they can’t send me the money electronically unless I have an Indonesian bank. Then they ask if I have an Indonesian friend they can send the money to.
They ask if I want a credit for next time. Why would I want a credit?
