Our hotel room was great! Very spacious, clean and great view of the city and partial ocean view. Though the hotel is located at a busy intersection, our room was very quiet.
Areas for improvement: customer service, valet service and ability to provide uninterrupted utility services (hot water) when hotel occupancy is high. Customer Service: The Front desk personnel were friendly; however, often times seem unsure of responses to our questions or we received conflicting responses. For example, my husband received varying responses for the hotel's lack of hot water on the weekend. Valet Service: For $60/night, the valet service was poor There would be 3-4 valet personnel working; however, there would be no one at the valet desk when we wanted our car retrieved. When returning our cars, there would be a line of cars waiting for a valet. The valet personnel would gradually reappear from one of the rooms (they were not retrieving cars). Utilities (hot water): We did not have hot water on Friday and Saturday night. We understand Friday and Saturday nights are busy; however, to run out of hot water and have to take a cold shower -- not acceptable.
For a luxury hotel, Renaissance Residences Honolulu really need to improve on their customer service and being able to provide uninterrupted utility services.
