Room and amenities provided were great but service was seriously lacking here. We stayed for three nights and each morning during breakfast, my omelette order was completely forgotten. I asked three times for omelette and a green tea, and neither received both so I ended up going to the Galle Face Mall for breakfast instead. Second, we wanted to get a table at Yi Jing for dinner but was told to wait “at least 20 minutes” because they were “completely booked”, despite over half of the tables inside were empty. We waited for 20 minutes and not one staff member came back to check on us, so we left and went elsewhere. Was very disappointed because I was looking forward to dining here. Wait staff didn’t even ask if I stayed at the hotel as a guest, which is always top priority. Lastly, I asked a simple request at reception to add my name and my guest’s name on the invoice and they were totally confused. One receptionist then offered to do it but after waiting 30 minutes nobody came , so I asked them again (they forgotten) and was told they couldn’t do it at the end with no explanation given. I missed my uber which was waiting, staff clearly was in no hurry to assist me. It’s a simple request that other hotels have always done without issue. Staff is severely lacking training and needs to be trained better, because this kind of service will get them fired on day 1 if this was the USA. Just because the hotel recently opened, doesn’t mean staff should remain incompetent.
